Summer Struggles with Health Goals?

“I know what to do, I just need to do it.”

After more than 10 years as a Registered Dietitian in private practice, I’ve heard this phrase thousands of times.

Whether you’re struggling with disordered eating, sports nutrition, digestive issues, autoimmune conditions, hormone imbalances, or navigating perimenopause and menopause…be careful to not fall into the “should” be doing trap.

The real challenge? Consistency.

And if we’re being honest, this is one of the hardest times of year to stay consistent. Schedules are chaotic, routines are disrupted, social events pile up, and healthy habits often take a back seat.

Here’s the truth: motivation is overrated.

Motivation comes and goes. Discipline is what creates change.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need to get it right 100% of the time.
You don’t need another Monday, another month, or another sign from the universe.

You just need to show up. That’s the only thing you “should” be doing. Showing. Up. As. You. Are.

Who has the Most Success?

The clients who create lasting change aren’t the ones who are motivated every day. They’re the ones who keep showing up, especially when they don’t feel like it.

And if you’re currently tempted to cancel your appointment because you “haven’t been doing well,” “fell off track,” or “need to get it together first”…
THAT is usually the biggest sign that you need to SHOW UP.

Your progress doesn’t come from avoiding support when things get hard. It comes from leaning into it.
