If You Have a Question, Someone Else Probably Has it Too!

We get a lot of great questions from patients every day!  We’re lucky that we have the time with our patients to answer most of them.  But we realized that the old adage, if you have a question, someone else probably has it too, rings true in this situation as well! So here’s a compilation of our most asked questions with answers:

  1.  Do I need a prescription to come to PT?

You no longer need a prescription to come in for physical therapy (unless you have a form of medicare)!  In New Jersey, we have what’s called direct access, meaning we can see you for up to 30 days without a prescription.  We are also able to determine if you need to be referred to a physician for a further work up.

  1. My doctor said I have to go to a specific clinic for PT, is that true?

NOPE!  You are allowed to go to any physical therapy clinic you want!  At our clinic we pride ourselves on seeing a maximum of 2 patients per hour.  This means more individualized care for you!

  1. Can I stay with one specific therapist?  I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.

We completely understand if you prefer one therapist over another!  We’ve been doing this a long time and understand that a connection is made between a therapist and a patient.  So feel free to speak up if you’d like to request a specific therapist for each treatment session.

  1. Is a referral different from a prescription?

Yes these two are different.  Not all insurance companies or plans require a referral.  If you are unsure, feel free to reach out and Danielle at the front desk!

  1. What things do you treat in PT?

In our clinic we treat everything from ankle sprains, to balance issues, to post-op shoulders and knees.  Recently, we’ve added post-concussion care to our repertoire.  We also have a female therapist who specializes in Women’s Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.

We can’t thank you enough for your loyalty over these past 11 years.  It truly means the world to us!  And if you love us as much as we love you, please leave us a positive Google review!
