“I am writing this message to express my gratitude to everyone on the Caruso Physical Therapy and Nutrition team.
Four years ago…
Four years ago, I was welcomed in and granted the role of Physical Therapy Aide. Shortly before then, I was in a period of my life where my path was not yet realized. I had just steered away from my previous career trajectory, and I developed some interest in physical therapy because of my desire to work directly with patients and my passion for the benefits that come with programmed physical activity. I needed to learn more about the field before pursuing it further. What better way to learn about physical therapy than actually working alongside a treatment team?
During my interview with Olivia, it was clearly evident how dedicated she was to leading a team that gives each and every patient the attention, respect, and personalized care they deserve to help them work towards achieving their health goals. I felt that it would be an honor to learn under them and perhaps even contribute towards that mission. A couple weeks later, Olivia actually called me on my birthday to offer me the job, and I did not hesitate to accept it.
The Team
As I got the pleasure of meeting each member on the team, including the medical receptionists, registered dieticians, physical therapy providers, and aides, I learned that everyone was exceedingly welcoming and eager to teach. As I began to work with each patient, I had the opportunity to listen to their stories and get to know them. Physical therapy can be difficult at times, and it demands patience and perseverance. Acknowledging that, it can be so inspiring to see the transformations that patients undergo from their first visit to their last, whether it is improvements in strength, flexibility, balance, pain management, mobility, posture (I could go on and on). Crucially, they can be more independent in their daily lives and get back to the activities they love.
My Passion
Throughout my time here at Caruso, my interest, curiosity, and passion for physical therapy has only grown. I would like to thank Olivia, the entire staff, and our patients for your mentorship, kindness, and patience with me as I continue the application process for physical therapy school. Thank you for everything you continue to teach me. Thank you for all the good laughs. Thank you for your trust and belief in me.”
