After eight years of practice at Caruso, I have a lot to look back on and a lot to be thankful for. Getting started as a new therapist was an exciting time in my life, but it came with plenty of hardship and challenges as I finished my schooling. Many aspiring graduates start their careers in less than satisfactory clinics and I was no exception, having landed my first job in a facility that valued numbers above patient outcomes. However, it was this first unfortunate placement that led to me finding my way to Caruso in less than a year.
The Leap
I took a leap of faith and moved with my family from Long Island to New Jersey and began the process of re-establishing my career path.
Thankfully, it didn’t take me very long before I found myself interviewing at the place where I would end up spending my past eight years rehabilitating the community of Allentown and reinventing myself:
- Working alongside a dietitian has helped me appreciate the role that proper nutrition plays in longevity and overall health (for both myself and my patients)
- Finding the perfect work-life balance has struck the right balance between a fulfilling professional life and rich social life
- Having the opportunity to work with other aspiring young therapists and students has broadened my perspective in the clinic and in life
- Having the privilege to learn from my patients every day from their initial evaluation to their last visit and hearing out their own stories as we solve whatever issue brought them in
If You’re Curious
I’ve truly achieved a lot in my time with Caruso Physical Therapy & Nutrition and I see no sign of stopping anytime soon. If you’re reading this, maybe you’re a past, present, or future patient of mine, or maybe you’re just curious about who I am and where I’m coming from. Like I say to my patients all the time, “if you need me, you’ll know where to find me.” I’ll be there with my coffee in-hand and my best socks on.
